Lisa's Lost Bracelet

Mark, the fisherman, is in his boat with his daughter, Lisa. They have been checking his lobster pots. Lisa is leaning on the side of the boat looking at her bracelet sparkling in the sunshine. She likes her bracelet very much. She takes it off to look at it more closely. Suddenly a wave hits the boat, and Lisa drops her bracelet into the sea.

“I am afraid that you have lost that,” says Daddy.

Lisa is very sad because it was a birthday present from her Mummy and Daddy, and she was very fond of the bracelet.

Underneath the boat the baby subs, Eddie, Freddie, Maisie, Daisie and Sam are doing their usual exercises; except for Daisie and Sam. Daisie is picking seaweed of different colours to make into a pretty posy. She loves to watch the way the strands of seaweed wave in the water. Sam is teasing a crab. The crab does not like being teased and pinches Sam so hard with it claw that it hurts. Sam decides that teasing crabs is not much fun after all!

Just then Sam sees the bracelet falling sparking through the water. He catches it and all the subs come to see what it is. Maisie says it has fallen from the fisherman’s boat and must belong to Lisa.

The boat ties up at the jetty and Lisa is sitting on the jetty looking sad.

Maisie has an idea. She tells Sam to swim under water to the other side of the jetty, put the bracelet onto the jetty and then make a big splash to attract Lisa’s attention, before swimming away under water. She tells Sam not to be seen, because they want to give Lisa a nice surprise.

The idea works well. Lisa turns round and sees her bracelet. She is delighted to get it back. Her father says it must have been caught on the boat and a wave washed it onto the jetty – but we know what really happened, don’t we!
