Last year we collected 978 items. This year the collection has begun well. Officially we do not start until 25th October, but already we have two boxes of books from Hills Books. Verey Books at Pooley Bridge are joining us for the first time this year. The Book Trust are sending 60 books. New Book Shop, Cockermouth collected 20 books during the year. Three years ago we collected over 1400 items. It would be wonderful if we could match or even better that this year. Just think of the extra smiles this could put on 1400 childrenĀ“s faces all over North Cumbria who could be experiencing financial or emotional difficulties this Christmas.
